Strange, Extreme Objects Surround the Violent Heart of the Milky Way, Destroying Dark Matter to Achieve Immortality.
A new study led by astrophysicist Isabelle John from Stockholm University (Sweden) reveals the presence of bizarre objects never before encountered by humanity, surrounding the center of the Milky Way, which is dominated by the supermassive black hole Sagittarius A*.
These strange objects are stars—a type of bizarre star that humanity has yet to discover.
The center of the Milky Way, which contains Earth, is surrounded by strange objects that are stars that consume dark matter to achieve “immortality” – (Graphic image: ESA).
Normal stars, like the Sun, generate energy through nuclear fusion at their core. As this fusion reaction weakens over time, the star ages and its energy supply dwindles.
Eventually, the star will exhaust its energy and collapse, similar to what humanity predicts will happen to the Sun in about 5 billion years.
However, the strange objects residing around the center of the Milky Way have discovered an alternative pathway to achieve immortality.
Using computer simulations of stellar evolution, researchers found that dark matter particles attracted to these stars can frequently collide and “destroy” each other within the star.
This process allows dark matter particles to transform into normal particles, releasing a significant amount of energy in the process.
This additional energy source can maintain the stability of the star and may enable it to achieve immortality, even when its usual nuclear fuel supply is depleted.
This discovery stems from several unusual astronomical observations that previously indicated some stars in the violent region around the influence of the Sagittarius A* black hole are often much younger than what stellar evolution theories can explain.
