The International Meteor Organization (IMO) estimates that up to 120 meteors can be seen per hour during peak nights, which equates to about 1-2 meteors per minute when the sky is clear.

On December 25, the Moscow Astronomy Club announced that the Quadrantids – the first meteor shower of 2024 – will occur from December 28, 2023, to January 12, 2024.
Astronomers predict that the peak of this phenomenon will occur on the night of January 2-3.
The Quadrantids meteor shower tends to radiate from the constellation Boötes and is named after the ancient constellation Quadrans Muralis, which is made up of dust particles left behind by comet 2003 EH1 as it passes through Earth’s orbit.
Scientists suggest that the best time to observe is after midnight, when the meteors are at the highest point in the northeastern horizon.
