Measuring 1,143 meters in length, the “world’s longest air-conditioned walking path” located in Doha, Qatar, is truly impressive.
On December 16, 2021, the park situated in Al Gharrafa, the capital of Doha, Qatar, was officially inaugurated and opened to the public. Covering an area of approximately 50,000 m2, the park is designed to accommodate around 3,000 visitors daily of all ages. It also boasts the longest air-conditioned walking path in the world, recognized by Guinness World Records, leaving many in awe.
Inside this 1,143-meter-long path is an integrated air conditioning and cooling system designed for walkers and runners throughout the park. It consistently maintains a temperature range of 26°C to 28°C.

It is known that the entire park and running path were designed by the Ashghal design team, focusing on utilizing environmentally friendly technologies and designs.
Accordingly, Ashghal has implemented a cooling and air-conditioning system powered by solar panels, which has helped reduce operational costs by over 50%. Additionally, the rubber flooring system, combined with a special design, prevents the loss of cool air, thereby maintaining an ideal temperature for running and physical activities.

Eng Yousef Abdul Rahman Al Emadi, Director of Projects at Ashghal, stated: “The Al Gharrafa Park is divided into various sections. Besides the costly and labor-intensive air-conditioned running path, it also provides numerous facilities for all visitors, such as a children’s playground, amenities for individuals with special needs, spaces for economic activities, and areas with projection screens,…“
He also mentioned that Al Gharrafa Park features a unique design with Islamic characteristics inspired by Al-Mashrabiya, aimed at providing visitors with a remarkable impression of the country’s distinctive culture.
While the design of the walking path employs flat color tones (neutral, non-vibrant colors) for a serene and calm feeling, bright colors were chosen for the cycling path and children’s playground, imparting a fresh and lively atmosphere.
