TeamGrean Car |
TeamGrean is the most fuel-efficient car in the world, invented by a British engineer. This three-wheeled vehicle can travel 3,400 km on just 1 liter of gasoline.
Andy Green, 45, who works at the University of Bath in England, invested £2,000 of his own money and spent two years designing this car. He worked day and night, including weekends, to build the vehicle. It has now become the UK’s unique car in terms of fuel efficiency.
The car weighs nearly 32 kg, roughly the same as a 9-year-old boy, and will be unveiled at the Somerset lecture hall of the university. On May 19, TeamGrean will compete in the Shell Eco-Marathon championship in France, alongside 250 other design teams.
TeamGrean is Andy Green’s fourth fuel-efficient car. Previously, he set a UK record with a vehicle that traveled 2,807 km on 1 liter of gasoline. The car is equipped with a single-cylinder, four-stroke engine with a displacement of 35 cc, operating with a special fuel injection control system.
An expert from the mechanical engineering department at the University of Bath commented: “This car is significant because it demonstrates that a good way to save fuel is to create lightweight vehicles.”
A spokesperson for the University of Bath stated: “Andy Green is regarded as the only inventor in the UK making remarkable contributions to help the world overcome fuel shortages and severe pollution.”
