The deep ocean has always been a great mystery that challenges humanity. It is indeed a frightening place, home to many predators with sharp teeth, possessing “alien” shapes, or silent killers lurking beneath the ocean sand.
In the photo below captured by a diver, at first glance, you might think it’s just a pattern in the sand, but if you look a little closer, you will be astonished to learn that it is a type of fish from the ocean floor.

The ugly-shaped fish hiding under the ocean sand is a way of camouflage while hunting for prey. According to ST, diver Will Soo managed to capture images of this bizarre creature in Blairgowrie Bay, Melbourne, Australia.
The 33-year-old man, who lives in Melbourne, went night diving with his friend Anika to gain a better understanding of the lives of Australian fishermen. Will Soo stated that life after sunset in this small ocean area becomes much busier than during the day.
When he spotted the strange creature beneath the sand, Will Soo felt stunned. All he could see were bulging eyes looking up at the lens, revealing a jaw full of sharp teeth.

Will Soo shared: “It was a sight that at first glance seems incredibly frightening, but at the same time, it is also beautiful in its own way. This is a highlight, an unforgettable experience during the night dive.”
According to diver Will Soo, witnessing these wonderful creatures that are rarely seen makes diving worth every minute. Participants in the experience will never know what they will encounter before embarking. Will Soo said: “If there is a place called paradise on Earth, I believe it is the world beneath the ocean waves.”
