Beverages made from ginger, greens, cinnamon, mint, or pure orange and pineapple juice can temporarily reduce bad breath, leaving your mouth feeling fresh.
Bad breath can result from various conditions (such as acid reflux or dental issues) or from harmful bacteria after consuming strong-smelling foods (like bamboo shoots, onions, or garlic). In addition to changing your diet and maintaining good oral hygiene, certain drinks can help mitigate bad breath.
Ginger Tea: Ginger not only soothes the stomach but also helps neutralize bad breath. Besides drinking ginger tea, chewing a piece of ginger after meals can help cleanse the palate.
Cinnamon Tea: The compounds in cinnamon have the ability to break down volatile sulfur compounds, which are responsible for bad breath. In addition to drinking cinnamon tea, you can mix a teaspoon of cinnamon powder with two tablespoons of pure honey to create a mouthwash that will leave your breath fresh and pleasant.
Green Tea: This type of tea has disinfecting and deodorizing properties that can temporarily mask unpleasant odors. The polyphenols in green tea, which are antioxidants, also help kill harmful bacteria, protect oral health, and prevent cavities.

Green Vegetable Juice: Juices made from spinach, lettuce, and kale can help balance the pH inside the mouth and maintain low alkalinity, thereby preventing dry mouth, which is a cause of bad breath.
Mint Tea: You can brew mint tea to use as a mouthwash to temporarily reduce bad breath after eating or drinking.
Water: Dry mouth allows harmful bacteria to thrive. Saliva helps wash away food particles and reduces odor-causing bacteria. Drinking enough water (about 8 glasses a day) not only increases saliva production but also keeps the mouth clean and free from bad odors.
Pineapple Juice: Drinking a glass of pineapple juice after each meal or chewing a slice of pineapple for 1-2 minutes can help alleviate bad breath caused by food. Opt for pure juice without added sugar, as sugar can promote the growth of harmful bacteria in the mouth.
Orange Juice: The vitamin C in orange juice helps increase saliva production, which can alleviate dry mouth that causes odor. Similar to pineapple juice, it’s best to choose unsweetened orange juice for better results.
Parsley Juice: Parsley has a refreshing aroma and a high chlorophyll content that helps neutralize odors. Parsley drinks can combat sulfur compounds.
Baking Soda Water: Baking soda can eliminate harmful bacteria in the mouth. To make a mouthwash with baking soda, add two teaspoons of baking soda to a cup of warm water, swish it in your mouth for at least 30 seconds before spitting it out.
