This is believed to be due to a military base located in the region. Therefore, only the central part of the island with the capital Torshavn is visible on the map.
2. Atomic Energy and Alternative Energy Commission in France
In France, near the city of Avignon, there is a national nuclear research center, Marcoule, which is a branch of the Atomic Energy Commission. This location is also blurred on Google Maps for “research purposes.”
3. Area 51, Nevada, USA
Area 51 in Nevada, USA, is world-famous and is also whitened out on Google Maps. Many rumors suggest that Area 51 is where research on extraterrestrial life is conducted.
4. San Blas Islands, Caribbean
The San Blas Islands, located off the northern coast of the Isthmus of Panama, consist of 365 individual islands. On Google Maps, a thick black bar appears in the center of the archipelago, blurring everything to its right, while the left side remains clear.

On Google Maps, the airport in Samjiyon, North Korea, is covered with a gray layer to obscure crucial aviation objects.
6. Social Security Building of the Spanish Armed Forces
This building belongs to the Spanish Armed Forces and is located in Almeria, Andalusia. On Google Maps, the image of this building is so blurred that its shape cannot be discerned.
7. Jeannette Island, Russia
Jeannette Island is quite small, measuring about 2 km in length, located in the East Siberian Sea. The center of the island features a peak that rises 350 meters. Almost the entire island is routinely covered in ice.
Many believe this island is blacked out due to ongoing sovereignty disputes between Russia and the USA.

From above, this square piece of land resembles an oil painting. Many believe this area is actually an ammunition depot for the Dutch military, hidden away on the map by the government of the windmill country.
10. Patio de los Naranjos, Spain
Google has completely blurred a fairly square courtyard known as Patio de los Naranjos, located in the city of Almeria, Spain. This has piqued the curiosity of many, leading them to try to find out more. According to various rumors, this area is related to important government construction projects.
11. Moruroa Island, Polynesia
Moruroa is a coral island in the island nation of Polynesia, owned by the French Republic. Images of this island are never clearly displayed on Google Maps. To this day, no one knows the exact reason for this, but many rumors suggest it is related to the island’s history. Between 1966 and 1996, Moruroa was the site of nuclear testing activities by France, with a total of up to 181 horrific tests conducted.
