The deep ocean is one of humanity’s greatest fears, with an estimated 95% of the ocean still unexplored. The fear of the unknown compels us to imagine and speculate about what lies beneath the frigid depths, where light cannot penetrate, and bizarre, terrifying deep-sea creatures lurk. Only monsters can survive the immense pressure and complete darkness of the Mariana Trench.
A typical diver can only safely reach depths of up to 40 meters underwater. Today, with advancements in science and technology, humanity is gradually delving deeper into ocean exploration. With diving equipment and submersibles that allow humans to descend hundreds or even thousands of meters below the surface, we are uncovering the habitats of these mysterious beings. Indeed, the dark ocean floor is home to countless creatures with frighteningly bizarre appearances, such as goblin sharks, black dragonfish, and lanternfish, but there are also incredibly adorable creatures like the Dumbo octopus.
