If you are a fan of Disney animated films, you probably know that filmmakers love to “challenge” their audiences by hiding easter eggs in random scenes throughout the movies.
These easter eggs are often related to events or characters from other famous animated films by the studio. With the goal of turning their works into exciting adventures that offer something new to viewers, these details are cleverly embedded, making it difficult even for those who have seen the movie multiple times to notice them.
1. “Guest Appearance” in Frozen
Before the accident that injures Anna occurs, Elsa often uses her magic to play with her sister. In the scene where Elsa creates snow characters, she includes familiar characters from Disney such as Dumbo the elephant, Baymax, Snow White, and Prince Charming.
2. San Fransokyo in Zootopia
Zootopia is a beloved film that builds a world of various animal species. However, few people realize that in Chief Bogo’s office, there is a calendar featuring the city of San Fransokyo, a fictional city that combines elements of San Francisco and Tokyo from Big Hero 6.
3. Disney Princess Symbols in Tangled
The animators of Tangled (Rapunzel) also left easter eggs for fans of Disney princesses. During her long confinement in the tower, Rapunzel doodles on the walls for entertainment.
Among her drawings, some are particularly interesting as they reference other Disney princesses, such as an apple symbolizing Snow White, a shoe representing Cinderella, a rose for Belle from Beauty and the Beast, and a shell that hints at Ariel from The Little Mermaid.
4. Mulan in Lilo & Stitch
What many may not know is that the director of Mulan, Chris Sanders, is also the director behind Lilo & Stitch. This may explain why Mulan appears twice in Lilo & Stitch. The first time is on a poster in Nani’s room, and the second time is on the sign of the restaurant called Mulan Wok.
5. Olaf in Moana
Although Olaf does not appear as a guest in Moana, details referencing the cheerful snowman are cleverly hidden. Specifically, in the scene where Moana decides to set sail to save her island, she gathers necessary items for her boat, including a carrot and a stick that resemble Olaf’s nose and arms from Frozen.
6. Ralph Breaks the Internet
While Ralph Breaks the Internet is known for containing numerous easter eggs, few are aware that in one scene where Ralph is shown a magazine, there is an image of Cass Hamada, the aunt of the main character Hiro Hamada from Big Hero 6.
