Coffee not only serves as a popular beverage but can also treat various skin issues such as acne, inflammation, and dryness when utilized properly.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen, Specialist Level 1 at the Dermatology Department of Ho Chi Minh City Hospital, provides guidance on 6 ways to use ground coffee to treat skin problems.
Treating Acne
For pustular acne, coffee can be used as a natural exfoliant combined with its antibacterial properties to combat skin bacteria.
Method: Gently massage coffee grounds onto the face to remove dead skin and reduce acne.
Additionally, you can make a coffee mask for acne treatment. Mix three teaspoons of coffee with one tablespoon of gram flour, add three teaspoons of honey, two teaspoons of aloe vera gel, and 2-3 drops of lavender essential oil. Apply the mask for 15 minutes or until the mixture dries, then rinse off with plain water.
Protecting Skin from UV Damage
Mix one teaspoon of coffee with one tablespoon of lemon juice, apply it to the skin for 15 minutes, and then rinse off. The polyphenols in coffee can help the skin defend against UV rays and reduce wrinkles caused by sun exposure.
Moisturizing Skin
Add one tablespoon of olive oil to half a tablespoon of coffee grounds and mix well to create a paste. Apply it to your face or any dry areas of the body, leave it on for 15 minutes, and rinse off.

Reducing Puffy Eyes
Mix coffee grounds with warm water, soak a cotton ball, and apply it to the puffy areas. Coffee has anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce inflammation and swelling.
Reducing Dark Spots and Lips
Combine half a teaspoon of coffee grounds, half a teaspoon of honey, and the juice of half a lemon. Apply the mixture to blemishes as well as your lips and massage for a few minutes. Leave it on for 10 minutes and rinse with cold water.
Using a coffee mask regularly helps fade acne scars, resulting in smooth, radiant, and flawless skin. One of the best benefits of coffee is its ability to reduce dark lips.
Reducing Dark Circles
Mix 1/2 tablespoon of coffee grounds with one tablespoon of honey. Apply the mixture under the eyes, let it sit for 10-15 minutes, and rinse off with cold water. Coffee helps improve blood circulation, preventing blood accumulation under the eyes that causes dark circles.
