Toshiba’s new laptop lines are now incorporating clean technology, with lead or mercury levels not exceeding 0.1%. This initiative aligns with the RoHS directive, which restricts hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products, approved by the European Council and effective from July 1.

This regulation applies to countries within the European Union (EU). Toshiba laptops are also prohibited from containing more than 0.1% of Hexavalent chromium, Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE), and 0.01% of Cadmium.
The application of clean technology helps minimize environmental impact and ensures safety throughout the computer’s operational lifecycle, eliminating hazardous materials and reducing toxicity of emissions and waste from the production stage. For consumers, this technology helps avoid harmful effects from prolonged exposure to toxic chemicals present in products.
