The microSD cards will include capacities of 256 MB, 512 MB, and 1 GB. All of these will be available in the market starting from July and August.
The microSD is the smallest extended memory card format, suitable for mobile phones and other handheld devices to save space.
SDHC Memory Card
SDHC is essentially a variant of the SD memory card, which can also be considered its version 2. This new memory card format offers higher data transfer speeds and increases the maximum capacity of an SD memory card from 2 GB up to 32 GB.
The first series of SDHC memory cards will be sold in September with a capacity of 4 GB. These cards can only be used in devices that support the corresponding card reader. Therefore, users interested in this card should check for device compatibility before placing an order. However, the pricing for this new type of memory card has not yet been disclosed.
