This event took place at Playa de Palma, a popular area known for its vibrant nightlife in Spain. The German tourists, who were previously strangers, connected through messaging groups and arranged to meet at a famous beer hall. Their goal was to break the record of 1,111 cups of beer set by another group of compatriots in July.
The 55 tourists spent $2,534 on beer and successfully surpassed the previous record by drinking 1,254 cups.
The world record attempt started at 10:30 AM and concluded around 1 PM. In reality, the record-setting drinking session took longer than the group’s initial expectations, as they confidently anticipated reaching 1,200 cups by noon. Nevertheless, everyone was thrilled with the outcome. Afterward, they headed to another beach bar to celebrate.
The 62-year-old German entrepreneur, Mr. Kai Uwe Kahmann, organized the record attempt. He shared, “Everything was conducted in an orderly fashion; no one lost their composure or went beyond their limits.”
On average, group members consumed at least 10 cups of beer each hour, with an average individual consumption of 22 cups over the two and a half hours.
Mr. Kahmann stated that he does not typically drink that much beer. He also admitted that he had to go to bed at 7 PM that evening.
