This was announced in the Tropical Storm Warning issued by the Philippines at 11 PM local time on September 10.
As of 10 PM on Tuesday, the center of Storm Bebinca was estimated to be 2,105 km east of Eastern Visayas, carrying maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h near the center, gusts up to 80 km/h, and a central pressure of 998 hPa, according to the warning.
Tropical Depression Strengthens into Tropical Storm Bebinca.
The warning further stated that strong winds from the storm could extend up to 200 km from the storm center.
According to Pagasa, Bebinca is expected to move mainly northwest until Friday evening, September 13. There is a possibility of a west-northwest turn while accelerating on Friday evening as it approaches the northeastern boundary.
Bebinca is anticipated to make landfall on Friday evening and exit the area on Saturday, September 14.
The Philippines also indicated that Bebinca could potentially strengthen into a typhoon, as weather disturbances remain over the Pacific.
The current projected path suggests that the storm will not directly affect any areas of the Philippines during the forecast period. However, the storm is expected to enhance the Southwest Monsoon, bringing scattered rain showers to Visayas, Palawan, and Mindanao. The scenario of scattered rain showers may still change depending on the path and intensity of Bebinca.
