Ukraine has developed a cloaking garment that blocks thermal radiation, providing protection against thermal imaging cameras, including those used by Russian drones, allowing soldiers to become invisible to the enemy.

On October 4, Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine’s Minister of Digital Transformation, announced that this cloaking garment has proven quite effective in protecting snipers and special forces units during combat missions.
According to Ukrainska Pravda, the garment is compact and lightweight, weighing just 2.5 kg, and is also waterproof and snowproof. Additionally, this cloak is fire-resistant and protects soldiers from high temperatures.

Fedorov emphasized: “The cloaking garment is just one of the initiatives to save our soldiers at the front lines. We need even more than this.”
According to Fedorov, this technology has been tested in the field.
This technology was developed under the Brave1 defense initiative.
Brave1 is an association focused on the development of defense technology in Ukraine. The Brave1 team and experts provide financial, informational, and organizational support to startups and developers to gain a technological edge over Russia.
This is not the first “cloaking garment” to be developed. Canada had a similar design in 2019, but instead of blocking thermal radiation, that design bent or refracted light.
