UK Authorities Warn Public to Stay Away from Cliffs in East Sussex After Major Crack Appears.
A significant crack spanning several meters has developed along part of the Seven Sisters cliffs, near Seaford, BBC reported on March 14.

Authorities stated that they have received reports about the new cliff crack and urged the public to “stay away from the edges and foot of the cliffs. It’s simply not worth the risk.”
The public is currently advised against walking on or beneath the cliffs at Seven Sisters.
East Sussex County Council has indicated that the cliffs in the area could collapse without warning after cracks form on their surface.
The South Downs National Park Authority added: “Due to the unstable nature of the chalk, cliff collapses occur randomly as part of the natural coastal erosion process.”
HM Coastguard warned anyone attempting to take selfies near the cliffs that: “it could be the last photo you ever take.”
“Periods of heavy rain often make the cliffs more vulnerable,” a spokesperson added. “The cliffs may be less stable than they appear, and collapses or landslides can occur without warning.”
Also on March 14, the Daily Mail reported that a massive boulder had fallen from the Seven Sisters cliffs onto the beach below as officials warned the public to stay away.
This area has witnessed several cliff falls in recent years. In 2021, a significant cliff collapse at Seaford Heath created a massive debris pile on the beach.
