On March 7, the People’s Committee of Duc Hoa District in Long An Province, in collaboration with the local government of Duc Lap Thuong Commune, mobilized efforts to encourage individuals from other areas to visit Mr. Nguyen Van Song’s “Mysterious Garden” for health treatments at their residence.
At the same time, they initiated the forced relocation of rental rooms that refused to vacate when the provincial People’s Committee issued an order to clear the garden area. According to the People’s Committee of Duc Lap Thuong Commune, one week prior, the People’s Procuracy of Duc Hoa District had ordered the cancellation of preventive measures, granting freedom to three defendants: Vo Thi Ngoan (the wife of the garden owner), Nguyen Thi Bong, and Thai Van Long, who are awaiting trial for resisting law enforcement officers.
Exploiting the situation under the guise of visiting, many unscrupulous individuals attempted to lure patients from other regions with the intent of recreating the so-called “Mysterious Garden.” Defendant Thai Van Long not only failed to return to his residence in Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province as ordered by the People’s Procuracy of Duc Hoa District but also remained at the garden to assist in attracting patients.
