Recently, China has discovered and destroyed approximately 2.55 million opium poppy plants. Satellites have been used to detect these poppy plants.
The public security departments under the Ministry of Public Security of China officially utilized satellite technology for the first time last year.
As a result, the police identified 756 fields suspected of cultivating opium poppy. Most of the identified poppy fields are located in mountainous regions and forests.
In addition, Chinese police have also discovered poppy fields in several foreign countries.
