There was a couple, the husband was blind and the wife was deaf. One day, while they were walking together, they came across a funeral procession. The wife said to her husband:
– Oh dear! This funeral is so grand! Look at all the flags and decorations!
The husband immediately responded:
– Flags and decorations? All I hear are the loud drums and horns!
The wife retorted:
– Where are the drums and horns? There are plenty of flags and decorations right there; if you can’t see them, don’t just talk nonsense.
Irritated, the husband shouted:
– Forget the flags and decorations! If people hear drums and horns, then that’s what they will talk about!
As the couple argued loudly, a bystander who understood the situation laughed and said:
– Alright, let’s calm down. The husband can’t see the flags and decorations, while the wife can’t hear the drums and horns. The funeral has both flags and the sound of drums and horns. Those with sight and hearing can see and hear everything. Why not just go on your way instead of arguing about the funeral here?
