The satellite images illustrate how the superstorm moved from the Atlantic Ocean, through the Caribbean, and into Florida.
Hurricane Jose, also in the Atlantic, has been observed heading towards the United States.
Many areas in the Caribbean and the state of Florida have been severely devastated by Hurricane Irma. After sweeping through Florida, Irma continued to make landfall in Georgia.
