After driving their rival away from the swamp, a young hippopotamus charged onto the shore to “tease” 15 lions, leaving them with nothing but regret.
This daring act of the hippopotamus was captured by tourists at Kruger National Park in South Africa.
The hippopotamus intentionally charged onto the shore to “tease” its rival.
When the young hippopotamus noticed a pride of lions drinking water at the edge of the swamp, it separated from its group and slowly approached to chase the lions away. Not stopping there, this hippopotamus even charged onto the shore to “tease” its opponents.
Despite being outnumbered, the lions chose to flee and give up the waterhole to the hippopotamus to avoid a potentially deadly confrontation.
Although hippopotamuses are not purely carnivorous and are large herbivorous mammals, they possess many frightening weapons such as: a wide jaw, thick skin akin to armor, unpredictable temperaments, resilience, and extremely strong bites capable of attacking crocodiles or crushing crocodiles that are about 3 meters long.
They are particularly aggressive when their territory is invaded or when their young are threatened. With their extremely hot-tempered nature, conflicts among hippopotamuses often end only when one is killed.
