To quickly restore the city’s status, Dubai has employed a range of advanced technological devices.
Last week, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was hit by heavy downpours, causing widespread flooding across the cities. Among them, Dubai, the financial hub of the Middle East, was reported to be one of the hardest-hit areas following the torrential rain.
Data indicated that the rainfall recorded in Dubai within just 12 hours reached nearly 100 mm, equivalent to the total annual rainfall for the city. Consequently, the unexpected deluge paralyzed almost the entire city of Dubai, submerging it in water. From roads to airports, and the glamorous shopping centers and financial districts, everything was inundated. Many people found themselves stranded, unable to return home, and some had to sleep in their cars waiting for the waters to recede or for rescue teams to assist them.
After the waters receded, the Dubai authorities quickly set about clearing the debris. In a widely shared video on social media platforms, Dubai utilized drones equipped with high-pressure water systems to clean the glass facades of skyscrapers and elevated structures.

Immediately after the video was posted, many viewers left comments expressing admiration and awe at Dubai’s application of high technology in everyday life. Some even remarked that the footage looked straight out of a futuristic science fiction movie.
It is worth noting that the use of drones for cleaning landscapes and skyscrapers has been a service in Dubai since 2020. On social media, many tourists visiting Dubai have shared images of drones cleaning the streets at night, expressing their amazement at this sight.
Images of drones cleaning the streets and buildings in Dubai are no longer a novelty for the residents living there.
