The moose runs for its life, but the grizzly bear catches up and drowns it in the river.
Wildlife filmmaker BE Judson captured the hunting scene of a grizzly bear in Yellowstone National Park (USA). Initially, Judson mistook the bear for a bison.
The bear takes a few minutes to subdue and drown the moose in the water.
In the video, the grizzly bear charges at breakneck speed down the river, chasing after a moose that is running for its life.
Having been injured on its left flank in a previous altercation with another animal, the moose is quickly caught.
With its bulky antlers, the moose tries to defend itself. However, the bear uses its claws to attack its prey. It takes a few minutes to subdue and drown the moose in the water.
Once the bear confirms that its foe is dead, it slowly drags the prize back to shore. This process is quite laborious and takes nearly half an hour.
