This “monster” species can grow up to 2.5 meters long and weigh as much as 113 kg, with a lifespan of up to 50 years in the wild.
The catfish lunges, pulling a pigeon into the water.
A flock of pigeons had gathered at a riverbank after searching for food in the city. They came here to wash off dirt and cool their bodies. However, they did not expect that a terrifying “water monster” was lurking, waiting for them.
As the pigeons bathed, they stirred the water, and the oil from their feathers mixed with the water, allowing the “water monster” to detect their presence. The predator suddenly lunged to pull the pigeons into the water.
The pigeons, with their heads dipped in the water, had no time to escape; only a few near the shore managed to survive. The attacker was the European catfish (Scientific name: Silurus glanis) – a massive fish that can grow up to nearly 2.5 meters long and weigh 113 kg.
