In just a few short minutes, a pride of over 10 lions easily devoured an adult chacma baboon.
In the wild, an adult chacma baboon can reach lengths of up to 1.2 meters and weigh over 40 kilograms. Additionally, they are among the most agile, alert, and aggressive animals found in the African savannah. Consequently, they are rarely targeted by lions.
However, when hunger reaches its peak, lions are willing to hunt baboons to satisfy their needs.
Chacma baboons are not the preferred prey of lions.
Despite this, due to their immense appetite, a single baboon is not enough to satiate the entire pride. Therefore, these big cats need to hunt larger prey to alleviate their hunger.
