While foraging, two wild buffaloes unexpectedly wandered into the territory of a hippopotamus. However, one of the buffaloes refused to leave and even appeared to challenge the opponent.
The hippopotamus immediately charged and bit the buffalo’s head.
As the buffalo approached, the hippopotamus opened its mouth wide as a warning. At this moment, the buffalo still refused to leave and continuously provoked the hippopotamus. Infuriated, the hippopotamus charged and bit the buffalo’s head.
Caught off guard by the attack, the buffalo realized its mistake and panicked, fleeing in haste. Fortunately, it managed to escape before facing a painful outcome.
The hippopotamus is a large animal that typically inhabits rivers and swamps in West Africa. They are easily recognizable by their massive mouths and their preference for wallowing in mud to cool off.
Despite their cute appearance, hippopotamuses are aggressive animals with unpredictable temperaments. When enraged, they do not hesitate to confront crocodiles, rhinoceroses, or even much larger opponents like African elephants.
