According to Earth Sky, the Leonids meteor shower in 2021 will peak with about 10-15 meteors per hour, which is quite sparse compared to the “super meteor showers” like the Perseids or Geminids.
One challenge for observing the meteor shower tonight is that the moon is in a relatively bright phase, dominating the night sky. However, if you can find a sufficiently dark area with minimal light pollution, you should still be able to clearly observe the Leonids meteor shower.

The origin of the Leonids meteor shower is the comet 55P/Tempel-Tuttle, which orbits the Sun every 33 years. Every November, Earth passes through the dust tail of the comet, causing these fragments to collide with the atmosphere and create stunning fireballs.
Typically, the Leonids meteor shower can be observed from November 6 to November 30 each year. Time and Date’s calculations for Ho Chi Minh City indicate that the peak night of the meteor shower will occur on the night of November 17, into the early morning of November 18 this year.
To better observe the meteor shower, allow your eyes to adjust to the darkness for about 15-20 minutes by avoiding electric lights and screens.
