To receive this title, university students will participate in a writing competition with the theme: “Household Waste – A Part of Life“. The top 20 contestants with the best essays will be awarded the title of Environmental Ambassador and will receive a scholarship worth 3 million VND from the Ministry of Education and Training.
The two best environmental ambassadors will participate in a one-week environmental study trip to Leverkusen, Germany, in November 2006.
The Bayer Young Envoy Program (BYEE) in Vietnam is organized by the Bayer Group in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Training and the Central Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in 2006.
BYEE is an environmental education program for youth sponsored by the Bayer Group and the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP). The program aims to raise environmental awareness, train young leaders in finding solutions to environmental issues, and establish a network for activities and knowledge exchange between countries. Additionally, the program provides opportunities for youth to access modern, environmentally friendly technologies, habits, and lifestyles.
The award ceremony for the Environmental Ambassadors will be held in Ho Chi Minh City in August 2006. The program is expected to be held annually in Vietnam. Application forms and detailed information about the program can be found at www.bayeryoungenvoy.com.
BYEE was first held in Thailand in 1995. This is the first time BYEE has been held in Vietnam. Previously, the program has been successfully organized in countries such as Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, India, China, South Korea, Indonesia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Colombia, Brazil, and Poland.
