Women should not give birth after the age of 35 (Image: VNE) |
Women can no longer give birth after menopause (as ovulation ceases). However, scientists recommend that women should not have children after the age of 35. For men, they can father children from the time they produce sperm until they lose the ability to achieve erection (usually after age 70-80).
However, according to Newsweek magazine (July 2001), scientists from Columbia University, New York University, and the Israeli Ministry of Health found that if a child is born when the father is between 45-49 years old, the rate of the child developing schizophrenia, cancer, and congenital abnormalities is double compared to children born when their fathers were 25 years old or younger. However, sperm from men younger than 25 may also be immature, leading to a higher chance of birth defects. Scientists advise that fathers should ideally have children between the ages of 26-40.
Is it true that couples where the wife is stronger will only have daughters?
This is misinformation and lacks scientific basis. The sex of the child is determined by the random encounter of the husband’s Y or X sperm with the wife’s egg. The Y sperm results in a male child, while the X sperm results in a female child.
In reality, there are many couples where the wife is stronger, yet they have sons, with some even having three sons.
