Erling Haaland is breaking numerous records in English football. His unusual diet may be the foundation that helps the Norwegian superstar perform so brilliantly.
In the documentary titled “Haaland: The Choice” on the streaming service Viaplay, the Manchester City forward reveals that he enjoys eating beef liver and heart, and only drinks water through a complex filtration system.
Haaland has a strange diet.
“People say meat is not good, but which type of meat are we talking about? The meat from McDonald’s or the grass-fed cow right over there? I eat both beef heart and liver. Others may not eat it, but I only care about taking care of my body. I think eating quality food that suits my body type is the most important thing,” Haaland shares about his unusual diet.
In addition to his diet, the Norwegian superstar further explains the complex water filtration system he uses.
“The first thing I do in the morning is let sunlight shine into my eyes. This is very good for the biological clock. I also start my morning by filtering water through a complex system. I think it can bring many benefits to the body.”
Another key to Haaland’s success is the lasagna he eats before matches, personally cooked by his father, Alfie Haaland. The forward always has lasagna before every home game. Coach Pep Guardiola is aware of this and joked about the pre-match meal before the game against Southampton.
“We could make a proposal for Erling’s father to cook for the whole team. If this is the secret behind Erling’s goal-scoring ability, I would convince the Chairman to bring him here,” he said.
