The monkey met a tragic end when it fell into the grip of a python.
Monkeys are known for being agile and flexible when in trees, but that does not mean they are safe, as many predators can catch them. The python below is one such example.
The python hung motionless in the tree, making it difficult for the monkey to notice. When the prey came within range, the python struck swiftly, delivering a fatal blow in an instant. It bit down hard on the monkey and coiled around its body.

Under the pressure of the python, the monkey died instantly. This particular python is a reticulated python (scientific name: Python reticulatus), one of the longest snake species in the world.
Reticulated pythons typically inhabit rainforests, woodlands, and areas near grasslands. They spend most of their time in trees, lying in ambush for prey and using their muscular constriction to kill their victims, as reticulated pythons are non-venomous.
