              Answers

Question 1: The correct answer is A: Once known as Pirate Island during the 17th century, this place is now called Hai Tac Island. Today, the island attracts tourists thanks to its beautiful beaches and pristine scenery. Hai Tac Archipelago belongs to Tien Hai commune, Ha Tien city, Kien Giang province. According to the provincial e-portal, in the 17th century, the Governor Mac Thien Tich repeatedly ordered his generals to quell the pirate disturbances here, and the name Hai Tac Archipelago has been used since then. This archipelago consists of 16 large and small islands, plus two submerged islands, covering a natural area of over 251 hectares, with a population of about 2,000 people concentrated in Hon Tre, Hon Giang, Hon Duoc, and Hon U. The local residents mainly earn their living through fishing and aquaculture. Hai Tac Archipelago attracts tourists with its beautiful beaches, clear water, and unspoiled nature. Each year, the island welcomes about 100,000 tourists.

Question 2: The correct answer is B: Kien Giang is the largest coastal province in the Southwestern region, including Rach Gia City and the entire old Ha Tien province. It has nearly 200 large and small islands with a rich system of beaches, rivers, mountains, and canals. Thanks to nature’s favor, Kien Giang boasts many famous scenic spots such as Phu Quoc Island, Nam Du, Ba Lua, Hai Tac Island, Ha Tien beach, and Kien Luong, all waiting for you to explore and travel.

Question 3: The correct answer is C: Phu Quoc, Kien Giang province, is Vietnam’s first island city, covering 57,300 hectares, with a population of nearly 200,000 – the highest among all islands. This city has 9 administrative units, including: Duong Dong ward, An Thoi ward, and 7 communes: Ham Ninh, Duong To, Ganh Dau, Bai Thom, Cua Duong, Cua Can, and Tho Chau. Located in one of the largest fishing grounds in the country in the Gulf of Thailand, Phu Quoc is well-suited for seafood harvesting. It is also a famous tourist destination both domestically and internationally, attracting millions of visitors each year.

Question 4: The correct answer is A: The island covers an area of about 3.65 km² and has a population of approximately 2,300 people. The island district with the highest population density is Ly Son in Quang Ngai province. Ly Son has an area of about 10.39 km² and a population of over 22,000 people. With more than 2,000 people per km², it is the island district with the highest population density among the 12 island districts in Vietnam.

Question 5: The correct answer is A: With about 367 large and small islands, Cat Ba – the archipelago located in the southern part of Ha Long Bay, offshore from Hai Phong city and Quang Ninh province – has the most islands. This is the only place in Vietnam that contains both Cat Ba National Park, a marine protected area, and a World Biosphere Reserve. With its biodiversity, Cat Ba is home to 3,800 species of plants and animals, with 81 species classified as endangered and rare in Vietnam’s Red Book of 2007, the World Red Book, and the list of species that need protection.

Question 6: The correct answer is B: Truong Sa Archipelago – Khanh Hoa, located in the East Sea to the southeast of Vietnam, is bordered to the north by Vietnam’s Hoang Sa Archipelago, to the east by the Philippines, and to the south by Malaysia, Brunei, and Indonesia; it is 243 nautical miles from Cam Ranh (Khanh Hoa province) and 440 nautical miles from Vung Tau.

Question 7: The correct answer is B: Truong Sa District, Khanh Hoa currently has 9 temples on 9 islands: Song Tu Tay, Nam Yet, Son Ca, Sinh Ton, Sinh Ton Dong, Da Tay A, Phan Vinh, Truong Sa Dong, and Truong Sa Lon. Song Tu Tay is considered the largest temple, renovated and repaired since 2007. The temple features a curved roof and tile roofing similar to temples in northern Vietnam.

Question 8: The correct answer is C: Nam Yet Marine Protected Area, belonging to Truong Sa District – Khanh Hoa, is located at coordinates 10°11’00” North latitude and 114°21’42” East longitude.
