The capabilities of human brain cells are much greater than what we have previously imagined.
According to scientists at the University of California, Los Angeles and California Institute of Technology, experiments have demonstrated that individual neurons can remember details of human facial expressions, patterns, scenes, and even short sentences.
This means that individual neurons do not just transmit or relay nerve impulses; they also function like complex computers that can process or store a large amount of information. Consequently, the human brain is essentially a massive assembly of supercomputers that no modern computer system can match.
