Microsoft’s Live family seems set to welcome even more members than users anticipated. According to liveside, Microsoft is set to launch Windows Live Video soon to compete with other rivals.
Similar to Google Video, Windows Live Video will allow the purchase and sale of premium content, much like the existing MSN Video service. Windows Live Video is likely to be announced and released in April, enabling users to share their own videos with the world, aiming to compete with Google Video and YouTube.
Additionally, Microsoft has announced another “child” in its Windows Live family: Windows Live Family Safety Setting Free, a free service that allows parents to monitor and filter their children’s online activities. Windows Live Mail Desktop, a new email client that can even replace Outlook Express on your machine, is also part of this package.
Microsoft continues to forge ahead with the development of its Live family to face off against its fierce competitor, Google. We can expect more services that users haven’t yet imagined to emerge, and their usability and security will need to be tested over time.
