On the evening of April 12, at the Hanoi Opera House, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, the Ministry of Science and Technology, in collaboration with Vietnam Television, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Finance, and the Vietnam Technical Innovation Support Fund, held a solemn ceremony to award the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Awards and the WIPO Awards for 2005.
This prestigious scientific award is recognized both domestically and internationally, contributing to honoring scientists who have made significant contributions to the nation’s development. National Assembly Chairman Nguyễn Văn An attended the award ceremony.
The Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Awards for 2005 were presented to projects in five fields: Automation Engineering; Biology for Production and Life; Information Technology; New Technologies; and New Material Technologies. The jury awarded 4 first prizes, 8 second prizes, 13 third prizes, and 15 encouragement awards to authors and author groups.
Although the research topics, fields, and applications varied, all of these projects demonstrated high practical applicability, contributing to enhancing product quality, reducing costs, increasing competitiveness in the market, and alleviating physical labor in strenuous processes.
To encourage and motivate scientists, during this event, the Prime Minister also decided to grant certificates of merit to the heads and co-heads of the award-winning projects.
During the ceremony, representatives from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) also presented the WIPO Award for the best enterprise in intellectual property to VINACAFE Biên Hoà Joint Stock Company.
This is the only Vietnamese enterprise to receive this award from WIPO and has shown significant innovation in the use of new scientific technologies in production and business, as well as a flexible approach to utilizing the intellectual property system to ensure its operational success.
