100-Year-Old Couple Pass Away Less Than 24 Hours Apart

Their son, Sam (76 years old), revealed that his mother was seriously ill and had been moved to the Hamilton Nursing Home in Ohio for end-of-life care. This broke his father’s heart as he witnessed his wife’s health deteriorate. The next day, Hubert was moved to the nursing home to be with his wife.
The 100-year-old couple was in a coma for 5 days while sharing a room at Hamilton Nursing Home.
The couple remained in a coma for five days while together in the same room there. Hubert passed away in his sleep. Just 20 hours later, June also took her last breath. “They went together. I feel sad even though I know I shouldn’t. They lived a happy life together,” Sam said.
They met in 1941 at a church in Kentucky when both were 19 years old. After the ceremony, Hubert struck up a conversation with June, and she happily responded. A week later, Hubert intentionally attended church again to see the girl he had just met. Her smile was what impressed him the most. A year later, Hubert proposed to June at the age of 20, and she accepted. Hubert once shared with the press: “She was a wonderful homemaker. She sewed dresses for the daughters, planted a large vegetable garden, harvested, and canned them. I must say my wife is very skilled.”
The couple also revealed that they enjoyed watching movies, having dinner together, and wanted to spend as much time as possible with each other. They had other principles as well, such as always kissing each other before going to sleep and whenever a disagreement arose. Both agreed that to be happy, one should prioritize their partner’s feelings over their own. “You never want to hurt the one you love. Put them first, above your feelings. If there are difficulties, solve them. I advise you not to go to sleep while in a dispute,” Hubert once shared.
Learning from their parents’ experiences, their children and grandchildren all have happy and stable marriages.
