Yahoo and AOL are set to introduce a new paid service that allows senders’ emails to go directly to recipients’ inboxes without being filtered through spam mechanisms.
However, to use this service, senders will need to pay a small fee, ranging from 0.25 to 1 cent per email. In return, senders will be guaranteed that their emails will not be blocked by filtering systems and will receive a notification once their email is delivered.
The reason behind Yahoo and AOL launching this service is due to the robust filtering mechanisms of these two largest email service providers in the world, which can filter and eliminate even legitimate emails from businesses. As a result, in some cases, if a business wants to send promotional emails, these will be blocked by the filtering system.
To date, both Yahoo and AOL filter emails by searching for keywords commonly found in spam messages. Additionally, AOL also removes images and website links from emails to prevent them from being connected to pornographic and harmful websites.
