Today, Symantec and Yahoo are expected to announce their collaboration plan aimed at improving online security for customers.
Information from an email sent by a Yahoo public relations representative to reporters yesterday indicated that the partnership between the two companies will include the launch of several new security products.
Yahoo and Symantec declined to comment further on the aforementioned information.
It is worth noting that the announcement of the partnership between Symantec and Yahoo comes right after Yahoo’s competitor, AOL, unveiled its comprehensive security service trial called Total Care. AOL’s product is also the result of a collaboration with its direct competitor, Symantec’s rival, McAfee.
Yahoo and Symantec have a long history of collaboration on various products, including virus scanning for Yahoo’s free email service.
Meanwhile, Symantec has established many partnerships to promote its products on user PCs.
