The water in the Tô Lịch River has unexpectedly turned a rare vivid green over the past day, delighting many people who travel along both banks of the river.
For nearly two days, the water in the Tô Lịch River has suddenly changed to a rare vivid green, especially since the morning of October 13.
Instead of the thick black water, the Tô Lịch River is now a vibrant green without any foul smell.
The vivid green water is particularly noticeable from the beginning of Hoàng Quốc Việt Street to T11 Bridge through Nghĩa Đô Ward (Cầu Giấy District, Hanoi).
Ms. Hoa, a resident of Nghĩa Đô Ward, shared that she hasn’t seen the water in the Tô Lịch River so green in many years. In recent years, the water has only been black and foul-smelling, especially in the last months of the year.
According to Ms. Hoa, in previous years during the rainy season, the river water was murky rather than green like this year.
Some residents living along the riverbank stated that the reason for the green color this year is due to the prolonged rainy weather, which has raised the water level in the Tô Lịch River combined with water being released from West Lake.
