Once mocked for her oversized feet, classmates changed their attitude when 10-year-old girl set a world record.
Ruby Labuschewsky (10 years old) has become the pride of her family since she was awarded the world record for children for having the largest feet in her age group.
“When I found out about this, I was so excited that I jumped up and down,” she shared with Insider.
Ruby’s family currently lives in Jonesville, Michigan, USA. At the time she achieved the title in the children’s category for ages 7 to 9, her feet measured 26.7 cm.

Ruby’s mother, Hanna Labuschewsky, stated that there were no other girls her age with feet larger than Ruby’s, hence Ruby established a new record.
World Records for Children is an online organization established to encourage children to dare to dream big. According to the organization’s website, children aged 4 to 16 can participate in various categories for world record titles.
The website also states that children’s records must be measured by adults, following a safe process that adheres to ethical and legal standards. Notably, children can even create a new category if they register with the organization.
Ruby’s feet reached 26.7 cm in length before turning 10 years old.
The process for Ruby to be recognized for her record was not simple. Her mother revealed that they had to take photos of Ruby’s feet next to a measuring tape from various angles and accurately document the measurements according to the organization’s requirements.
But that’s not all. After submitting their application, they faced a long waiting period, and the two often checked the website daily during that time. Finally, about four weeks after submitting the application, Ruby’s achievement was recognized.
This title not only made her famous but, more importantly, helped her feel less self-conscious about her “different” physical trait, which had been a topic of mockery at school.
From a child often mocked, Ruby became famous and was acknowledged by her peers.
Since winning this accolade, Ruby has become a recognized figure among her peers. The world record has helped her overcome stigma and gain acceptance at school.
Until now, Ruby has often struggled to find a pair of children’s shoes that fit her feet, forcing her to wear adult-sized shoes.
Hanna mentioned: “It’s hard for her to express her style and personality when she can’t find a pair of shoes she likes.” Nevertheless, she remains resilient.
The size of her feet is equivalent to that of an adult woman.
Ruby’s accomplishments do not stop there; as she grows older and turns 10, she exceeds the age limit of her previous category. However, she immediately submitted a new application for her new age group.
According to the information on the website, the previous record holder for the 10-year-old category had a foot size of 26.7 cm, while Ruby’s current foot size has reached 27.1 cm.
