Typhoon Doksuri has just swept through northern China, bringing heavy rain to the capital Beijing and surrounding areas. The torrential downpours lasted for several days, leading to severe flooding, submerged roads, and trapping residents.
Chinese media reports indicate that at least 21 people have died due to the flooding. Authorities estimate that it will take a month for the floodwaters to recede in the hardest-hit areas. Local residents are working with the military to evacuate those stranded in their homes.
A video circulating on social media shows cars being swept away and buildings and roads collapsing in a sinkhole that formed in Hebei Province.
