Despite being surrounded by 40 crocodiles, the lion made a spectacular escape that left viewers astonished.
The incident was recorded at the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya.
In the clip, a lion is standing on the carcass of a hippopotamus, surrounded by more than 40 crocodiles waiting to attack their prey.
The lion made a reckless decision to jump straight into the water to find an escape route.
Finding itself in a “life-or-death situation”, the lion made a daring choice to leap directly into the water in search of an escape. After stepping on the back of a crocodile, the lion darted to the shore and escaped safely. This heart-stopping scene was captured by photographer Antony Pesi.
In the wild, lions and crocodiles are known to be two of the most notorious predators. With their superior strength and features such as sharp teeth and claws, they are a nightmare for other animals.
As a result, fierce battles between these two species often occur, with victories typically being shared. Winning a fight largely depends on the environment. On land, crocodiles cannot compete with lions, but the situation reverses underwater.
However, due to their habitats being so different, crocodiles and lions rarely encounter each other. Therefore, confrontations between these two predators always draw significant interest from the public.
