The incident occurred in a rice field located in Amar Colony, Pauri District, Uttarakhand, India.
Specifically, a spotted leopard was chased away after it approached a residential area in search of food. After fleeing, villagers set up a net and used sticks to approach the leopard hiding in the rice field.
However, due to the leopard’s dangerous nature, officials from the Forestry Department were also present to assist the locals. They fired tranquilizer darts to immobilize the leopard. Despite being covered by the net, it still resisted strongly.
Ultimately, the spotted leopard managed to escape the net and attacked two Forestry Department officials before being shot dead.
