According to RT television, this battery can power the smallest computer chips in the world for about 10 hours.
The invention addresses two persistent issues in technology: the lack of power on chips and the challenges in producing ultra-small integrated batteries.
Dr. Minshen Zhu, one of the lead researchers on the project, stated, “Our results show energy storage efficiency at sizes below one square millimeter.” Professor Oliver Schmidt, a colleague of Dr. Zhu, added, “There is still great potential for this technology. We can expect to see ultra-small batteries with greater power in the future.”
The goal of this project is to find solutions for powering technology as the sizes of computers and mobile phones continue to shrink.
The scientists did not disclose when this technology will be brought to market.
