Archaeologists have recently discovered the oldest civilization in Europe, with over 150 large temples built around 4800-4600 BCE found in fields across Germany, Slovakia, and Austria.
According to scientists, this civilization predates the Egyptian pyramid civilization by approximately 2000 years. The temple complex consists of structures made from wood and earth. Although excavations began three years ago, the temples have only recently been uncovered and have yet to be named.
The most complex area is centered around the city of Dresden in Saxony, Eastern Germany, featuring a temple surrounded by four ditches, three earthen banks, and two rows of palisades.
These temples have a diameter of about 150 meters and were constructed by people living in longhouses and villages nearby. Excavations have also revealed stones, bones, wooden tools, as well as ceramic figures of humans and animals.
A village in Aythra near Leipzig, Eastern Germany, is estimated to have about 300 inhabitants, consisting of around 20 large houses surrounding the temple.
