In the clip, a baby monkey is desperately trying to wake up its mother while crying. It even uses its tiny arms to hold tightly onto its mother’s bloodied body. It is reported that the mother monkey was tragically hit by a vehicle and died from excessive blood loss.
The little monkey refused to leave its mother’s side and only moved when villagers came to take the mother’s body for burial. Officials from the Uttar Pradesh Forestry Department later arrived to take the baby monkey to a rescue center.
In India, monkeys are considered the embodiment of the monkey god Hanuman, and any deceased monkey is given a religious burial.
