On September 5, Mr. Jaap Beets, 59, was working inside his farm in Gelderland, Netherlands, when he suddenly heard a commotion from the livestock and poultry.
At that moment, a hawk swooped down, attempting to grab one of the hens on the farm. However, the other animals quickly sprang into action to protect the hen. A video captured by surveillance cameras recorded the event, which lasted 17 seconds.
According to the footage, the rooster was the first to react, running straight towards the hawk. Then, Bruin the goat immediately charged in to chase the predator away. Together, the rooster and the goat successfully drove the hawk off.
This is not the first time Mr. Beets’ livestock has come to each other’s aid. Beets proudly mentioned that the turkeys and goats on his farm have saved other hens from predators on two occasions.
