A 23kg Burmese python was lounging on the railing of a barge, causing panic among the Hong Kong police.

Hong Kong officers discovered the more than 2-meter-long python while their barge was on duty in the Tolo Channel on the afternoon of November 8.
They were taken aback by the “uninvited guest,” and immediately contacted a snake expert to handle the python perched on the barge’s railing.
“The python was captured alive and transferred to an animal protection organization,” said the Hong Kong police.
Burmese pythons are native to the southern and southeastern regions of Asia. They typically inhabit trees and water. A female can lay up to 36 eggs during the breeding season.
The Burmese python’s preferred diet includes rodents and birds. When hungry, it can become extremely aggressive, attacking both its own kind and even humans.
