Astronomy enthusiasts around the world shared stunning images capturing a rare moment when the Moon aligned with Venus, Saturn, and Jupiter against the night sky.
This fascinating astronomical event took place on the evening of November 8, attracting many photographers and astronomy lovers who pointed their lenses skyward to observe. In the images, Jupiter is positioned at the top left corner, with Saturn nearby. The Moon and Venus are closer together, tilted toward the right side of the frame, nearer to the horizon. Both celestial bodies appear to be aligned with Jupiter and Saturn.

The Earth’s natural satellite is currently in the waxing crescent phase and appears to be situated between Venus and Saturn in the night sky. According to NASA, in the coming days, the Moon will continue to move closer to and pass by Saturn and Jupiter as we look up at the sky. On November 11, the Moon will be in the waning crescent phase. The full moon phase will begin on November 19, but a day earlier, the Moon will be partially obscured by the Earth’s shadow during a partial lunar eclipse.
This partial lunar eclipse can be observed at various times from locations around the world, including the United States. Instead of being completely shrouded in darkness, the Moon will appear a deep red due to sunlight passing through the Earth’s atmosphere and reflecting onto the Moon.
The gases in the atmosphere scatter blue light more than red light, according to the University of Rochester. In November and early December, Jupiter and Saturn will come closer to Venus. Venus is the second brightest natural object in the sky, after the Moon.
