The Covid-19 patient transport cabin in the quarantine area has been successfully invented by a research team from Danang University of Science and Technology, contributing to the support of nurses and doctors in epidemic prevention and control efforts.
On July 2, Danang University of Science and Technology handed over the technology product “Covid-19 Patient Transport Cabin in the Quarantine Area” to the Lien Chieu District Medical Center in Danang City.
This product was developed by MSc. Dang Xuan Thuy, a lecturer from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Danang University of Science and Technology, and the research team, aiming to timely support the Covid-19 prevention and control efforts Covid-19.
The Covid-19 patient transport cabin is designed to simulate a negative pressure chamber, ensuring that bacteria do not spread into the air. This product is fully equipped with a disinfection spray system, exhaust fan, oxygen tank, lighting, and warning lights.

The cabin is made of aluminum, weighs approximately 80 kg, and can be easily moved as it is connected to an electric scooter or can be manually pulled. Inside the cabin, there are seating or reclining options, capable of carrying loads over 100 kg.
According to MSc. Dang Xuan Thuy, the advantage of this product is that it can be transported using an electric scooter, making it suitable for moving patients between buildings, functional rooms, and hospital or medical center campuses. This cabin can be disassembled and reassembled for manual transport from the corridor into patient rooms…
“The estimated cost of manufacturing the product is about 60 million VND. If produced in large quantities, the cost could be reduced to around 50 million VND,” MSc. Dang Xuan Thuy stated.
Additionally, MSc. Dang Xuan Thuy mentioned that after the Lien Chieu District Medical Center placed an order, the research team successfully developed this product within a month.
Dr. Le Van Sy, Director of the Lien Chieu District Medical Center, noted that thanks to the negative pressure cabin, when transporting patients or suspected cases, it ensures that the virus does not spread outside, preventing cross-contamination.
